Join native Egyptologist Hala Aly in this course about the afterlife in Ancient Egypt. Many people assume that with so much emphasis on the afterlife, Ancient Egypt was a civilization of death. But to the contrary, Ancient Egyptians were advocates of life, so much so they could not believe it would come to an end! Ancient Egyptians believed that the afterlife was a continuation of this life, which is why it was a major thought that the afterlife would continue in Egypt. This course will compare beliefs about the afterlife in Ancient Egypt to beliefs of the afterlife still in place today. This course will also compare the major world religion’s beliefs of the afterlife to those of the Ancient Egyptians.
